If you are pedaling powerful enough then you'll notice wear of the pads after even one ride. I am using crankbrothers on roadbike and sometimes push very hard, sitting and standing, so I expect these pads won't last very long without getting loose quite soon. but still it's better than ride without pads! probably, for strong riders on road bikes still SPD-SL pedals may be better.. but I love crankbrothers for more safe and predictable clip-out process in comparison to SPD-SL

Aesthetics on top, got up easily instead of the standard plastic plate, which was replaced. Thickness, length, width, about the same as a plastic plate. Additionally, they will not protect anything relative to the standard, but they will not harm either. They look cool.
