The Maxxis Assegai tire is named after the iron-tipped spear used by the Zulu people of South Africa. Greg Minnaar, a native of South Africa, thought it was a fitting name for a tire ready to do battle on the mountain. This tire is perfect for loose terrain and with little grip, the Maxxgrip compound is quite soft so the tire will not last long, but with the kilometers and type of outings that I do, it is enough for me

So grippy especially in turns. A step up from the DHF in terms of grip. Never had a front puncture with this tyre and casing. Have also used this tyre on the rear and the grip is amazing but it does create ,some more rolling resistance.
