The Maxxis Assegai tire is named after the iron-tipped spear used by the Zulu people of South Africa. Greg Minnaar, a native of South Africa, thought it was a fitting name for a tire ready to do battle on the mountain. The tall knobs punch through dust and loam to find traction, but also offer support and confidence on wet roots and rocks. While other tires excel only in certain conditions, the new Maxxis Assegai is built to go fast everywhere.

The combination of this Maxxis Assegai at the front with the Maxxis Aggressor at the rear made my Trek Rail 9 e-mtb even more fun and safer. Now it feels like you're really riding on a rail, whether it's rough technical terrain or dusty, flowing trails. In practice, the feeling of confidence that this tire is able to convey has increased considerably and therefore it is possible to face the routes with greater tranquility. Assegai is the best Maxxis tire for enduro, this one in particular does not have the hardest rubber and it is not the best compound, but it is perfect to wear with tannus or mouse.

The Maxxis Assegai is the top on all terrains including wet roots and stones !! they don't last too long but obviously the soft compound in favor of the grip doesn't allow you to go too far ... about 5/600 km but it depends on use.

Spectacular tire !!! I have put it on the front wheel and the grip is beastly. It gives a great feeling of security. We will see the wear and tear and durability but it is one of the best options I have taken.

No, this tire is a single carcass that Maxxis calls TR or Tubeless Ready. This means it is a lighter tire with less rolling resistance. TPI 60, 1,160 gr, DUAL compound, Max PSI 40, EXO/TR tech.

Meanwhile, you haven´t specified which other model, because I count 9 29" Assegai tyres. The other models have greater protection, or have double or triple compounds compared to this one which is mono compound.
