I installed the 16-30T cassette on my son’s Giant TCR on the 11-speed hub and found the same problem - the smallest sprocket does not lock into the next sprocket. But as long as you line the sprockets correctly and tighten the cassette to its recommended maximum NM it will not move. My son is 16 and puts out very high watts and has had no issues with it. He recently won the U17 Australian road race title on the Miche 16-30T cassette.
