Shimano MW5 MTB Shoes have been designed for mountain biking and trail since they have very resistant materials for the most complex and rugged trails where you will have enough grip, energy transference, comfort, easy lacing, and impermeability.
These mountain biking shoes present a rubber outsole for excellent grip to the pedal and a midsole with reinforced nylon with fiberglass that provides stability and cushioning to walk. In the interior, a fleece insole gives warmth and keeps the temperature of your feet at its normal levels.
Another novelty of this trail shoe is the DryShield membrane that repels the water of the rain and puddles, as well as the cold wind and mud. They have laces for easy fit and a Velcro strap that avoids the objects from entering inside. The neoprene collar increases the protection and support of the ankle.

I bought a previous similar model in 2005, and they always accompanied me on winter trips, but these ended up being cheaper and are even better because in addition to being waterproof, they have improved a lot in terms of keeping the feet warm and adjusting to the foot and shin. ! I hope they last as long as the previous ones!

These shoes are good down to 0C and then you’ll want to want to cover with neoprene booties or toe covers for colder days. The shoe fit (size 42) exactly matches my shimano mountain bike and road shoes. The speed lacing system is easy to use and Velcro is always reliable in cold/wet winter months. Not the most expensive shoe in this market but its shimano reliable and gets the job done well.

For a price of just over 100 euros, this shoe is a great buy. Warm, comfortable and easy to adjust. Worn with a winter sock, it keeps the foot really warm and dry. I have not tried to dip my foot in a pool of water, but the splashes do not penetrate. I took an extra number to be able to wear thick socks. Otherwise the right size is fine.

Warm feet at last. I've been riding the boot between 12 and -2 degrees for 1 month and haven't been disappointed yet. So far he has only had splash water, everything inside stayed dry. With the big one, I was a bit insecure. Is 45 a 45 or only 44 or 43. As a precaution, I took 46 and is also a 46. But on very cold days, a second pair of socks fits in. So far, I've been riding the shoe without overshoes, the neoprene sock is very comfortable and high enough so that it doesn't pull on the ankle.

For its price (I bought it for € 100) it is a good winter shoe. Interior adjustment with Salomon type closure and exterior with neoprene velcro so that the foot is well supported. The size is generous so you do not have to ask for one more as it happens in other models! The cold protection is correct, below 0ºC you have to wear a good sock to be comfortable.

I usually have shoe size 44.5, with these 45 fits very well (does not fit loosely, but there is enough space for thicker socks without being tight). The shoes are well made and comfortable. I have relatively warm feet up to about 3 ° C, and it gets cold after about 30 minutes. However, I have feet that are very sensitive to cold / poorly supplied with blood - other riders may find their shoes 5 degrees colder. Another note: I also bought the shoes to wear them on platform pedals without cleats. This is only possible to a limited extent. The sole is quite hard and barely holds the pins. As a result, the shoes slip permanently (unlike GTX sneakers, for example). This is not a criticism of the product, but if someone is also thinking about it, either the appropriate SPD pedals + cleats should be fitted or other winter shoes should be made.

Comfortable boots to wear fit the foot well and the water does not penetrate and the foot is always dry but for cold cold they do not protect much, I left with -1C and on the toes the cold was felt. In general good boot but not for demanding temperatures. Thank you

I wore these for the 1st time on a 60 kilometer ride in cold (2C) conditions. Wet came from running through snow patches and wet stretches of road. At the end of the ride my right foot (my slightly larger and dominant foot)was a little chilled, but not uncomfortably so. They were dry, which was added to the comfort on my ride. I wore a very thin summer sock under thicker wool socks to allow wiggle room in the boots. I wear a 42 and these were true to the sizing chart when I ordered. A good fit. I like that they are easy to walk in and aero too! Stiffness is perfect for putting the powe to the pedals and they are light for a winter boot. Warm and waterproof is key. These are the boots I was looking for! I'm very pleased! Highly recommended!
