How to Change a Bike Inner Tube

Removing a dirt bike inner tube for repairing or replacement purposes can sometimes become difficult for the riders. Here, we will discuss how to change the bike inner tube with few pro tips in mind;

Tools Needed

You will require the following tools in order to remove the wheel and change your bike’s inner tube; Screwdrivers/ bike tire lever, wrench, new inner tube and air pump.

Removing the Wheel

Remove the wheel from the bike. If your front tire inner tube is being replaced, simply loosen the bolts on either side of the bicycle tire. If it is the rear tire, you should remove the chain from the gear while rotating the pedals. Remember that you have to be careful while dealing with the tools and moving parts as you can get pinched.

Removing the Inner Tube

Take off the cap from your mountain bike inner tube valve. You need to stick the lever between the wheel and tire and move around the wheel to get the edges out of the rim. Pull the inner tube and check the tire for anything that can puncture the new inner tube.

Insert the New Inner Tube

Take the correct size and type of new bike inner tube and insert it by placing the valve inside the rim. Press the tire back into the rim once all of the tubes are fixed. Specialized, Schwalbe, Vittoria, and Continental are the best brands that manufacture bicycle inner tubes.

Use an air pump to inflate the tire and put the cap back on the valve once you are done!
