What are the parts of a lamp?

A lamp consists of several essential parts that work together to provide illumination. You can buy parts of a lamp from these brands: Edm, Philips, Creative Cables, Oem, and Caluma. Here are the key components of a typical lamp:

Base: The base is the bottom part of the lamp that provides stability and support. It can be made of various materials such as metal, wood, ceramic, or plastic. The base often incorporates design elements and may include features like switches or dimmers.
Bulb socket: The bulb socket, also known as a lamp holder, is the part that holds and connects the light bulb to the lamp. It provides an electrical connection and supports the bulb securely in place.
Bulb: The bulb, or light source, is the component that emits light. It can be an incandescent bulb, fluorescent tube, LED Light Emitting Diode, or other types of bulbs depending on the lamp´s design and intended use. Bulbs come in different shapes, sizes, and wattages to provide various levels of brightness and energy efficiency.
Lampshade: The lampshade is a covering that surrounds the bulb and diffuses the light, reducing glare and providing a more pleasing and softer illumination. Lampshades are available in various materials, such as fabric, glass, plastic, or metal, and can come in different shapes, sizes, and styles to complement the lamp´s design and control the direction of light.
Harp and finial: The harp is a metal component that supports and positions the lampshade, typically mounted above the bulb socket. It holds the lampshade in place and allows for easy adjustment or replacement. The finial is a decorative ornament or screw that secures the lampshade to the harp.
Cord and plug: The cord is the electrical cable that connects the lamp to a power source. It carries electricity from the plug to the bulb socket, enabling the lamp to be turned on and off. The plug is the component attached to the cord, allowing the lamp to be plugged into an electrical outlet.
Switch: The switch is the control mechanism that turns the lamp on or off. It can be located on the lamp´s base, cord, or socket, depending on the design. Some lamps may also have dimmer switches to adjust the brightness levels.
