The 3-stripes brand continues to extend the impressive legacy of the Solar series with the adidas SOLARBOOST® 4 running shoes. Being the favourite of countless neutral runners worldwide, these shoes continue to emerge as a great option for training at low paces and over medium distances.
The SOLARBOOST® 4’s upper returns to the essentials, with more streamlined shapes and a lower profile than its predecessor. The Primegreen upper once again demonstrates the German brand’s environmental awareness, while also improving breathability thanks to a more open and less dense mesh. The heat-sealed reinforcements on the toecap and instep increase durability, while the lace closure continues to provide one of the best and most efficient supports on the market.
But it wouldn´t be a Solar series shoe if it didn´t have a boost™ midsole under its chassis. To the delight of amateurs and professionals alike, this excellent foam returns in the SOLARBOOST® 4 to deliver top-of-the-line cushioning and energy return. The Control Rail plate in the midfoot improves stability when running. For sublime traction in urban environments, the Continental™ compound rubber outsole also returns, this time with a redesigned dual pattern for greater effectiveness in adverse conditions.
From your first run to the finish line of that 10K, the Solarboost 4 feels responsive mile after mile and day after day.
These adidas running shoes are built on full-length BOOST with a control rail that guides the foot with each stride.
Throw in the Linear Energy Push system, and you get a snappy ride that takes you from training to race day.

I needed a good comfortable shoe for The Tunnel Ultra which is basically all weekend on tarmac. I was drawn to the Solarboost 4 as I get on well with boost cushioning and also the current price was a bargain. After reading up I could see the tongue was nice and thick and would offer good protection from hours of laces pressing against the top of the foot. I could also see plenty of cushioning detail around the heel and Achilles areas. The shoes were superb for the event. I managed 130 miles and my feet had no trouble at all, no blisters or black toes. The shoes fitted perfectly, although I went up half a size from normal, mainly to be safe with feet swelling after hours of running. There were times where I needed to pick the pace up and the rebound and response was there even with such a cushioned shoe. For longer runs I would seriously recommend this shoe to anyone. A great shoe for high mileage training weeks too. A very satisfied customer

80% of my training is zone 1, zone 2; This means about 70-80 kilometers a week, so I need cushioned, stable shoes and, above all, very good durability. The combination of Boost and continental rubber are ideal for this. I weigh 56 kg, have good technique and use them only on asphalt and treadmill at calm paces (in my case from 4.45 to 5 min/km). By the way they are going, I think I will do them for 1000 km without problems. The other alternative that I have to devour km are the Solar Glide, which although in theory they are for heavier runners are also great for me and have outstanding stability.
