Incredibly secure and comfortable trail runners

I used these to do 30 miles over two days hiking the Cotswold Way, and also 20 miles in the Welsh mountains. Blisters are a thing of the past with the Altra LP 5 and I have plenty of room for toes so no rubbing at all. The fit is excellent they secure around the upper foot and ankles really well without digging in. I feel confident in them running too. Love them. Great design too. My only criticism (which is something that may not bother others) is the sole is a little too stacked to be truly stable. Too much cushion, I sometimes fear ‘slipping off the stilts’ and turning an ankle. Slightly more ground feel and lower point of contact would make this THE ultimate shoe.

great trail shoe, in which you immediately feel comfortable, safe and confident. the space available for the front of the foot is very significant. and with zero drop, you run easily with a natural stride.

I received what I expected. Personally, I like the shape of 4.5, but the sole has a firmer impression. There is no doubt that the durability will be satisfied from now on.

It has not yet been tested in the field but for the first impression, a very well finished product. Weak point: sole too rigid/poorly articulated. I expected it to be more flexible. We will see later in action how it behaves.

Altra Lone Peak is the perfect trail shoe. Cushioned and responsive, it leaves plenty of room for the foot to move naturally. However, it seems slightly narrower than previous models, I recommend at least 1/2 number more than usual. In any case, I recommend it for those looking for a comfortable training shoe or for medium or long distance races.

Great shoes, very comfortable for my foot shape. Underfoot protection is much greater than the Altra Lone Peak 4.5, so it feels more secure for rocky trails. Unfortunately the shoe feels a little narrower in the toe box than the 4.5 model. This is unfortunate for my feet, as I am looking for a toe box as wide as possible. Still it is a wider toe box than most other shoe types.

Very satisfied with this purchase! Comfortable and light, these shoes are a real asset for any trail runner. The only downside: athletes with a thin foot will be disappointed.
