Salewa Puez Melange Polarlite is a thermally efficient mid layer designed to provide optimal functionality and maximum warmth. It is designed especially for all the alpinists, who enjoy the high adrenaline rush from non-stop climbing routes and high aerobic activities. This sweatshirt is lightweight, antri-odour, comfortable, soft and easy to carry to any destination.
Made with Polarlite Wool Melange Grid that is lightweight, quick-drying, breathable insulation fabric that provides maximum comfort and warmth throughout the day. The ergonomically shaped gusseted sleeves provides the maximum liberty of body movements, the comfortable flat-lock seam reduces bulk and gives it an athletic-look.
The adjustable hood and cuffs with elastic binding. seals out wind or snow keeping you warm and protected throughout the day. The 2 pockets with zippers have sufficient storage capacity for your daily essential items. The reflective details offer full vision in low-visibility places keeping you safe.

I'm 190 cm, 85 kg, bought my usual size 50/L, it fits well. The cut is more fitted/slim than my previous fleece jacket, especially the sleeves and cuffs are quite snug. On one hand, this means it's a bit harder to put it on than my previous jacket, on the other hand it looks nice and there's no wind entering through the cuffs or through the bottom. It also means it works well as a midlayer under any outer jacket, since it creates very little bulk. The fabric is rather thin, but is at least as warm, and also blocks a bit more wind, compared to my previous fleece jacket. If the wind is strong, though, I would reach for an extra windbreaker or a soft-shell outer jacket (this is the case with any fleece, they are just not wind-proof, but that's why they are very breathable). The zippers work well, the pockets are very roomy, and the hood is just the right fit (similar as to how the rest of the jacket fits). When not using the hood, it still completely protects the neck. The Autumn melange color looks pretty nice, and is similar to how it looks on the pictures.

I bought it to combine with a durastretch jacket and to wear in winter. Very nice looking, good quality. It has a shiny exterior. You can think of the material as very thick Polartec 200, or thicker than Millet Seneco Tecno jackets. If the cut is close to the body and your shoulders are wider than your own body, the armpit may be a little uncomfortable at first, but you will stretch or get used to it. I haven't tested its performance yet, but from what I've tried, it seems breathable. Thank you Trekkinn.

I've yet to try this for a hike in cold weather but I've worn this on cold rainy days and it does the job of keeping me warm. I have several Salewa items and i trust the quality of their product. For reference, I am about 175cm and roughly 80kg. Size M was just nice for me.
