With an upper so revamped that it could pass for a completely new product, the adidas Free Hiker C.RDY hiking boots update the Free Hiker series’ excellent performance for those days when humidity and cold hit hardest.
The 3-stripes brand blends a GORE-TEX® layer with an advanced high-cut design that seals the foot completely at the ankles, resulting in total insulation from cold and moisture that will keep your feet dry and safe at all times. A sealed zipper runs across the center of the instep to the high neck to ensure that wearing these boots is comfortable enough without reducing support, while abundant TPU reinforcements along the toe and midfoot increase durability and protection
The Free Hiker series fans will be pleased to know that the legendary Continental™ rubber outsole continues to provide phenomenal traction on rugged terrain. The boost™ midsole, on the other hand still has the smooth, competent cushioning that gave worldwide renown to it.

I bought these boots because normal walking boots always give me blisters and hurt my toes. I can confirm that these do not give you blisters or push on your toes. I initially bought my size (6), but as it says, they do come up small. So I swapped for the 7 and they are perfect. I wore them for the first time on a 14 mile walk and I didn’t get a single blister. A must buy for walkers that love Adidas trainers.

Almost too good looking to go out there and muddy up. Superb traction, comfort and ease of use with the zipping system. There´s nothing but praise to place upon this shoe; adidas at their best. I´d recommend doubling up with a second pair as this design before it´s discontinued. It is already setting the bar and fiddling with new iterations has more chance of yielding subpar results than equalling - let alone besting - these.

I have just bought my second pair of these after wearing my other pair out! Like the other reviews, they are comfy straight out of the box. They are warm (thin socks needed only) and they are fully waterproof. They are worth the price tag for sure, I have walked probably a few thousand miles in my previous pair. I went a full size up last time, and only a half size up this time thinking about wearing thin socks and them giving a little over time, but upon reflection, a full size up would have been better. Therefore I would recommend sizing up one full size.

I like the overall style and quality. Used it for hiking/ walking for long hours and it has a good grip on unstable, muddy and stony grounds. however, it´s slippery on icy grounds when I hiked uphill. In addition, it kept my feet warm and dry. Probably, wearing a bit of thick socks for better support when walking or hiking for long hours. I added 1 size up from my usual size and it´s perfect. Highly recommended! However, you have to check because it might be too tight for those who have bigger ankles/ shin.

I’ve been looking for an all year round hiking (or just keeping your feet warm and dry in the winter months) and this shoe does exactly that! My feet are lovely and warm at all times, even in -2 degrees. The base of the shoe is great as it solid (walking over cobbles/rocky terrain )but gives enough movement to jog (the continental base absorbs some of the impact too!) I’ve tried these in puddles and on the shore line and no water gets in! I’m a true size seven and this runs a little small so I would suggest (7.5) to have that extra room - though this is dependent on what type of socks you like to hike in (thick/thermal- normal socks)

Highly recommended, worth getting and very comfortable. The zip doesn´t mean it´s simple to put on as you´ll still need 2 hands to do this. This is because of the comfortable sock liner within that almost seems like a separate removable part of the shoe (it isnt). Great for dog walking in muddy areas or just having the peace of mind that you won´t get wet.

I actually wear shoe size 40. Thought I'd rather order 40 2/3 with thick socks. My foot doesn't even get halfway into the shoe because of the very narrow shaft. So I couldn't really try it on. So order at least 1-2 sizes larger. I previously had the Adidas Terrex Conrax. This shoe is significantly lighter and I will definitely order it again in the next size.
