Merrell Moab 2 Mid Goretex Hiking Boots have been designed for excursionists who want greater protection and safety in their explorations to the mountains since not only offer excellent grip, cushioning, and safety, but also impermeability, and breathability against unexpected weather changes.
These mountain boots have a Vibram TC5+ sole with a stud pattern of 5mm so you can walk in rugged, muddy, or rocky terrains with the best grip and traction. The EVA midsole provides excellent stability and cushioning, while the Merrell M Select construction gives great support against sharp objects on the bridge and heel.
The Goretex membrane offers a high resistance to water and maximum absorption of moisture which guarantees a good control on ventilation. The upper of these trekking boots is built with leather and mesh which make them very resistant and breathable, and the protective toe cap that avoids bumps on the fingers. In the interior, they have a mesh lining, gusseted foam tongue to avoid the entry of dust and stones.

Very happy with the overall performance of the boots. Tested on routes longer than 20km and with different types of terrain, they maintain good grip and comfort. It is important to ask for one more number since on steep descents it is possible that the foot rubs against the front part of the boot causing some chafing.

The only choice for hard work with confort. Besides the riding boots my merrel are my day to day heavy duty weapon . Handling horses, mucking and all the hard work you can imagine at the farm. with an 08 hour use a day and sometimes more they last a year wich is a good investment taking the fact the most importat thing that is Confort. I previously had the Merrell Moab Walking Shoe Goretex and have been so impressed with their waterproofness, comfort and durability that as I'm now trekking with heavier loads I've moved up to the Merrell Moab 2 Mid Goretex. Straight out of the box and the only modification I have made which I made on the walking shoe is to take out the Merrell insole and use Slazenger Gel Insoles which are amazing. These boots are perfect for when carrying a backpack on long journeys and make light work of rough terrain. Give them a go you'll love them!

I bought another brand a month ago and went on a rather tough hike in Japan. The damage to my feet was painful and lasted a few weeks. They were rather expensive, so I had expected more. I ordered these boots and right away felt the comfort and support I had been looking for. I will try them out next week. The other boots (Caravan) are great, but not for what I needed. Too loose (maybe a half size down would have been better). Anyway, now I have three pairs of Moabs. Love them and recommend them.

Shipping went as expected, shipping to Portugal. I did about 50km of walking with these boots and they are quite comfortable. I walked on sandy ground, gravel and tar, in all types of terrain comfort is guaranteed. As for the impermeability I am also satisfied, I did not fully test, just walked on grass with morning dew and even if they were wet outside, it did not go inside. One of the boots has a laces bigger than the other (about 10cm), but is the only one that I find. I hope they last because I am quite satisfied with the purchase.

Had several pair of Merrell Approach Shoes for years with my current Moabs now coming into their 2nd year and still going strong. Needed an alternative to my full leather boots for summer hillwalking so decide on the Moab 2 mids for the added ankle support. Went for a half size up to accommodate my thicker walking socks and swelling of feet after several miles on the go. I bought these boots for my husband for our upcoming hiking trip where we may encounter snow and rain. Hubby slipped into a creek at a crossing the other day (with one foot only) and was happy to report that his foot stayed nice and dry. He finds them very comfortable to walk in and the extra ankle support is a definite advantage on rocky and uneven terrain. Great Merrell boots.
