Our single layer UltraLight™ Insulated Mats provide the lightest and smallest packed size mat without compromising on comfort.

When we set out to design a mat that was better than what was already available, we ultimately went back to why we carry a sleeping mat into the wild in the first place — to give us a better night’s sleep. ‘Better’ is of course a very subjective ambition and while we could have made the lightest, or the most compact mat ever designed, we’re stoked to present what we consider to be the most comfortable sleeping mattresses available. Specifications:

Air Sprung Cells - Single Layer

Constructed using a single layer of medium resolution cells to give you the lightest and smallest pack-volume mattress without compromising on Sea to Summit’s Air Sprung Cell comfort.

The air sprung cells are the core technology of our Sleeping Mat range, and are the reason why you will sleep better on a Sea to Summit Sleeping Mat. Instead of the typical baffled construction, Sea to Summit sleeping mats are constructed using a dot-weld pattern to create a high surface-area matrix of interconnected chambers called Air Sprung Cells. Air Sprung Cells operate in the same way as a pocket spring mattress, as each cell deforms independently the mattress conforms to your body shape which feels softer and more comfortable with more body contact area and even dispersion of pressure.

Extrusion TPU Lamination

Our TPU lamination is applied through a process unique to the medical and aeronautical industries. Extrusion lamination is more durable, consistent and enables us to use our own TPU recipe. It is vastly superior to roll-to-roll lamination, which is used in most other outdoor products at present and can suffer from delamination issues. We have also introduced an anti-microbial treatment into the TPU to prevent mould or fungal growth.

Multi-Function Valve
To make inflation and deflation easier, Sea to Summit has developed our own, patent-pending multi-function valve.

The valve integrates an inflate port with a one-way valve to prevent air loss before you seal the valve, a rapid air dump deflate port, and a fine tune button to adjust for comfort – all in one compact, low profile unit.

PillowLock™ System
Easily secure your Sea to Summit pillow to your Sea to Summit mat for a slip-free sleep.

Designed to keep your pillow exactly where its meant to be—on your sleeping mat—our unique PillowLock™ hook-and-loop fastener patches come standard with all our mats from mid-2019.

ASTM F3340-18 R-values are the industry standard of determining resistance to heat loss for sleeping mats.

Sea to Summit gets their sleeping mats independently tested at the EMPA laboratories in Switzerland. In the test, R-values (resistance to heat flow) are measured by placing a hot plate on one side of a sleeping mat and a cold plate on the other. Electronic sensors then determine how much energy it takes to keep the hot plate at a consistent body heat.

As of 1 January, 2020, we will be using the new industry standard ASTM F3340-18 test to provide R-values for our mats. This new method of testing the insulative properties of sleeping mats will see some changes to our previously published R-values. It’s important to note that where these values change, it doesn’t signify a drop or increase in warmth—it simply means they have been tested using a slightly different scale.

This is probably the most durable and comfy mat you can find. I bought two one for me and one for my friend. You can't imagine how well you can sleep on such a thin mat. It is 5cm thick and I was afraid it will be too thin and it wasn't. Not to mention I am not the lightest guy (90kg), and on top of that, I am a side sleeper. I guess it comes down to that chamber design. Also proved very sturdy. First use was on low and thick bushes since we couldn't get a flat ground, during the night I could feel the branches pushing in and was already accepting the fact that we broke the matt but it survived without a scratch. About R-value, I used it on 0, -3 c and it felt cold every now and then. Pump sack is awesome.

Very good mattress. I already had one but not isolated. I recommend buying an insulated one for hiking. On the other hand there is a big difference in size when folded between the insulated one and the one without insulation. I might have taken the regular size even if I admit the large size is more comfortable on the shoulders

I had heard a lot about the quality of the Sea to Summit brand and after testing these mats I can only confirm it. They are really comfortable, retain body heat and protect from the cold that could come from the ground with a noteworthy insulation. Furthermore, just as importantly, they are very light and ultra compact. They are worth their price, I would buy them back immediately.

I took a rug with me on a two-week bike trip. Slept comfortably. The back was not cold. The temperature at night was different from +6 to -1. My friend was annoyed that when you turn over, the rug creaks. For me it is not critical. I am satisfied with this product. Very easy to inflate and put back into the case.

Sea to Summit never fail to impress on their quality and design so their Ultralight insulated sleeping mat is no supprised. Very comfortable, easy to inflate and when paired with their Aeros Down Pillow, extra comfortable. The airstream pump sack is a great addition. - and saves a dizzy head from inflating it solely through the one way valve. As I am 188cm I purchased the large size (198cm) so I pay an extra weight penalty (650g) than those who can fit on the regular or small size but when it comes to camping a comfortable nights sleep is worth it.

Чувствуется качество. Материал плотный, лёгкий, приятный на ощупь. Как получил - протестировал дома. За двое суток совсем не сдулся. При росте 185 и весе 95 взял большой. Достаточно места для локтей, коврик достаточно цепкий - не скатываешься и никуда не сползаешь с него. Удобно спать на боку. В комплекте рем.набор и мешок для надувания, который сильно упрощает задачу после длинного походного дня. Про изоляцию пока ничего не скажу - осталось испытать в холодную погоду в горах.

Pleasantly surprised about the compact size of the packed mat. The stuffsack doubles as an inflating bag, works great and fast, keeps moisture from breathing out of the matress. Thick enough for a good night's sleep, I always sleep on my side. No problems of touching the ground. Never felt cold in the night (around 5 degrees C).

Great mat. Really good weight/size/insulation ratio. I was only disappointed of the customs I had to pay in Switzerland. Delivery price did not include those even though this shop well knows that the customers will have to pay them. So I ended up paying more than in a Swiss mortar shop :-(.

Just returned from a campaign in Romania. I was incredibly pleased, the conditions were not very good, almost the entire route was raining, at night the temperature was about 0. The rug was very pleased, neither I nor my girlfriend had ever frozen, it was very comfortable to sleep on my back and side. Delivery is fast, I don’t remember exactly, but after about 1-2 weeks I had the rugs.

Є tella (іz writers) і cold (without a letter) side. On the tel, yak prikolti dolonu, then for a few seconds to warm up. On cold this does not fit. Those who are not lazy comfortable, they don’t care for the inflatable mattress, if the whole mattress is read in Russian. Recommend!

It's very small and lightweight and with the pump-bag that comes with it's very easy to inflate. Comfortable mat, but I haven't dragged it yet. Only tried it very short at home. Good value for money, lightweight but well insulated. Kept me warm even in below zero temperatures. The included pump bag is easy to use. Only downside is that the air sprung cells go flat when you sit on the mattress and makes it a little uncomfortable. When lying on the mattress, this problem goes away.

Only positive impressions of the rug: light, compact. It is easily and quickly inflated. Under my weight is not pressed through. When driving noise is not significant. Thermal insulation will be sufficient for the time spring-autumn. It remains to check its durability. I am satisfied with the purchase, I recommend!

Excellent mattress

I am really not disappointed with this purchase. The mattress is certainly a little thinner than some competitors, so not necessarily good for people too heavy but it is really comfortable. The weight remains correct and the fact that the "pump sack" is integrated with is really a plus. Finally, it is really strong (nylon 40D) compared to competitors and even if it found itself pierced, a repair kit is included. I really recommend it!
