This is not going to be a very extensive review, I am not going to get too wrapped up. Nor do I think it is necessary to write for the sake of writing. And it is not because the Garmin Enduro does not deserve a very extensive review and exhaustive analysis. That is simply why I am going to focus on the main and most important feature of this new device from garmin: the incredible battery life. It is not the only novelty, but it is the most significant and for which this device stands out from the rest. I will be specific, concise and without going around the bush. Most of the Garmin Enduro features are inherited from the Fenix 6 Range, but what interests me are the new features. So we started.

In this image we can see how there are no significant differences in materials, weights, or size compared to the Garmin Fénix 6X Pro. It is inevitable to compare them. They share the same DNA, but the Garmin enduro comes with a very clear, specific mission that sets it apart from other devices: it is aimed at all those athletes looking for a GPS device with the best features, quality materials, and above all a battery of great durability. It is undoubtedly its differentiating element. The Garmin Enduro battery offers us exceptional performance.

During the time that I have used the Garmin Enduro, I have not put it in power save at any time. The idea was to use it in normal conditions and see how far it accompanied me. On April 1 I registered the first activity with it, and it turned off on May 6, a month and a week without charging it. The day to day with the phone connected to receive notifications. In the end the numbers have been:

36 days of use.

25 activities.

46 hours of activity.

Honestly, they have achieved exceptional performance. The Garmin Enduro´s battery life is amazing. All those ultra-distance athletes who need a device to accompany them for long days of training or competition, will find their best companion in this device. If the sun accompanies you and you use the battery saving modes offered by the device, you will be able to choose the longest and wildest races without having to suffer from being turned off along the way. The performance improvement and battery optimization is truly amazing. But, I have to say, and this is a personal opinion, that the fact that it does not include cartography disappointed me a bit. I understand that the reason must be durability, otherwise I can´t explain it.

It was the first solar-charged device I´ve tried so far, and I think it really is a very useful and well-achieved feature. The solar capture graph that we have on the screen, shows us practically immediately the capture of solar rays and the intensity. It has been interesting for me to observe how the screen works, and see how the sun´s rays were captured and used by the device. Activities of more than an hour, with practically all of the activity capturing the sun´s rays, only reduced the durability of the battery by 1 day.

The other element that I would like to mention is: The elastic nylon strap that wears this Garmin Enduro. When I saw her, I thought that with the sweat or the pool water they would leave her soaked. But not at all, at no time has it bothered me, I have noticed it wet. The drying has been fast, it has not picked up bad odors, and most importantly, the fit is perfect. This strap really makes the device fit the wrist perfectly. Everything and the size of the Garmin enduro, I haven´t even noticed it when swimming. The only drawback is that it´s a little more uncomfortable to put it on and off than the Quick Fit straps that my Garmin Fénix 6 Pro incorporates. But as I said, I like the final fit much better with this strap.

As novelties, they also offer us improvements in the data that the device collects and analyzes. These improvements will also be updates for the garmin Fénix 6.

Vo2 Max has been incorporated into Trail running.

Improvements in the data of the ClimbPro function where apart from the data of the climbs of the route, we will be able to observe the data on the descents and the plains.

Ultrarun mode, for those Ultra distance athletes. You will be able to manage your long-distance races by timing and managing breaks, for example, at aid stations. The control and management of the race will be more optimal.

LAST CONCLUSIONS:

Watch with excellent features, robust and aesthetically striking. With a perfect fit thanks to the elastic nylon strap. With impressive battery life. Really considerable improvements have been achieved in this regard. But without cartography, a characteristic for which I decided to buy my Fenix 6 Pro. For the rest, all the improvements that the Garmin Enduro incorporates, and that the Fénix range will incorporate, are one more step so that we can train a little better every day, with the help of all data collected with our devices. A watch with a very clear target audience, any mountain athlete who trains or competes over long distances, and the main characteristic is the durability of the battery.
