To help others with sizing I feel I should mention that these classic style unisex 1460 smooth docs run a little larger than some other styles (the Bex 1460s for example, which in my experience run about a full size smaller). I am usually between a size 38 and 39. 39s in these boots were way too big, but the 38s I bought here were perfect, with enough room still for winter socks as well.

These shoes are extremely comfortable, even if you have to break them in first. You can even do sports badge disciplines with these shoes (2 hours of walking). I tested it myself, I ran 13 km in 2 hours and 9 minutes. My shoe size is actually 42 1/2, but these shoes fit me in 42. Even with Warmwair insoles, the shoes fit me well and keep me nice and warm and are waterproof. For care, I recommend cleaning with water and a cloth (but you can also remove coarse dirt with a vacuum cleaner and brush attachment) and monthly waxing with Dr. Martens Wonderbalm. To keep the stitches nice and yellow, you should wax them particularly intensively. I thought the shoes were so great that I immediately bought a second pair.

I bought these for my granddaughter. I bought exactly the same size she wears in the UK which is a size 6. They fitted her perfectly. As they are boots I wouldn’t recommend going a size smaller as you could always wear a bit thicker sock
