Riders praise its lightweight design and premium finishes, noting it´s as quiet as full-face helmets, even at high speeds. This German-engineered helmet offers excellent value for its price and performance

Very good helmet

2022/09/30

Christophe

previously I had 2 helmets, a full-face in xl and a jet in xxl. I advise to take the size xl which will fit perfectly. The pre-equipped audio is a significant plus. Approved stickers could have been present in a small bag, at the discretion of the purchaser. Attention to the return times, they are indeed 3 weeks despite a return to the sales site in 5 days by Mondial Relay!

Comfortable and well finished

2024/07/13

Marco

The most comfortable helmet I have found, high-level finishes, low noise comparable to that of many full face helmets, very easy intercom installation, feeling of quality everywhere.

Product conforms to the German brand! Very good finish and very comfortable. I did not yet know the tradeinn site but for a first experience this one is successful. Price very well placed, choice of model available and delivery in 3 days therefore rather effective. Too bad that the French platforms are not so well placed on this German product. Nicholas

Ideal buyer profiles

General buyers seeking a modular touring helmet

This buyer is looking for a high-performance modular helmet that combines the convenience of an open-face design with the protection of a full-face model. They prioritize safety, comfort, and advanced features for long-distance touring and daily commuting.

The Schuberth C5 meets these needs with its carbon-fiber shell construction and ECE 22.06 certification, ensuring a high standard of safety. Its modular design offers versatility, while features like an integrated sun visor, exceptional aerodynamic stability, and preparation for Bluetooth® communication systems provide the comfort and convenience essential for long rides. The focus on whisper-quiet performance further enhances the touring experience.

Competitive features

When evaluating the Schuberth C5 Solid Modular Helmet against other premium helmets, its primary distinction lies in its modular design and specific comfort-oriented features. While many competitors in this price range, such as the Bell Moto-9s or Schuberth S3, are specialized full-face or off-road models, the C5 Solid offers the unique versatility of switching between a secure full-face and a convenient open-face configuration. This makes it a standout choice for riders who value adaptability across different riding conditions.

Where it excels

The key advantage of the Schuberth C5 Solid is its modular functionality, allowing riders to easily lift the chin bar. This offers the open-air freedom of a jet helmet when stopped and the full protection of a full-face helmet while riding. Engineered for comfort on long journeys, the C5 features a wind-tunnel-tested shell designed for a quiet ride and a seamless interior lining, setting it apart from more performance-focused or minimalist full-face helmets. This helmet includes premium convenience features right out of the box, such as an integrated sun visor and an included anti-fog lens, which are not always standard on more specialized race or off-road models. Certified to the ECE 22.06 standard, the C5 Solid meets a rigorous and specific safety benchmark, providing confidence in its protective capabilities.

Verdict

The Schuberth C5 Solid Modular Helmet is an excellent choice for touring and commuting riders who prioritize versatility, comfort, and convenience. Its ability to function as both a full-face and open-face helmet, combined with its quiet ride and integrated features, makes it a top contender for those undertaking long journeys or varied daily rides. While dedicated sport or off-road riders might prefer a specialized helmet, the C5 Solid provides a superb all-around package for the discerning adult rider.
