Schuberth R2/R2 Basic SC1 helmet sideplates

SCHUBERTH R2 / R2 Basic SC1 Helmet Sideplates

Restore the factory-fresh aesthetics and uncompromised performance of your helmet with the genuine SCHUBERTH R2 / R2 Basic SC1 Helmet Sideplates. Precision-engineered by SCHUBERTH as the definitive solution for riders who choose to operate their helmet without the SC1 communication system installed, these essential accessories ensure your helmet maintains its peak aerodynamic and acoustic properties. When the SC1 unit is removed, these sideplates are designed to flawlessly fill the integrated recess, creating a seamless and solid surface that is crucial for performance and protection.

The primary benefit of installing these Cover Caps is the immediate restoration of the helmet´s sophisticated aerodynamics. The SCHUBERTH R2 series is celebrated for its stability at high speeds and its quiet ride, attributes achieved through extensive wind-tunnel testing. These sideplates are not merely cosmetic plugs; they are an integral part of that aerodynamic profile. By closing the SC1 bay, they prevent turbulent air from entering the recess, which significantly reduces wind noise, drag, and potential whistling sounds, allowing you to enjoy the quiet comfort that SCHUBERTH helmets are known for.

Functionally, these sideplates offer vital protection for your helmet´s internal components. The exposed SC1 interface contains sensitive electronic contact points and connectors. Leaving this area open exposes it to the elements, including rain, dust, road grime, and debris. Over time, this exposure can lead to corrosion and damage, potentially compromising your ability to install and use a communication system in the future. These purpose-built Cover Caps seal the compartment securely, safeguarding the delicate electronics and preserving the long-term value and functionality of your investment. They ensure that whenever you decide to install or reinstall your SC1 unit, the connection points will be clean and ready for a perfect link.

Aesthetically, the sideplates provide a polished, integrated look. They are designed to match the contours and finish of the R2 and R2 Basic helmets perfectly, eliminating the unsightly gap left by a missing communication unit. This ensures your premium helmet looks exactly as the designers intended—sleek, complete, and purposeful. Available in finishes designed to complement your helmet´s specific colorway, they contribute to a cohesive and professional appearance. Installation is straightforward, allowing for a quick and secure fit that restores your helmet´s original silhouette in seconds.
