Vertex Piston Kit 24270C: The Ultimate OE Replacement for Your Yamaha YZ450F

Restore your engine´s heart to factory-fresh condition with the Vertex Piston Kit, reference 24270C. Specifically engineered for the demands of modern high-performance engines, this top-end piston kit is the premier choice for riders seeking reliability, longevity, and restored power without deviating from original equipment specifications. Vertex is a world-renowned leader in piston technology, and this kit exemplifies their commitment to quality, making it the ideal solution for your next engine rebuild or top-end service.

This kit is designed as a direct Cast OE replacement piston, ensuring a perfect fit and a return to the smooth, reliable power delivery you expect from your machine. The meticulous engineering process focuses on creating a piston that meets or exceeds the standards of the original part it replaces.

One of the standout features is the advanced piston skirt coating. A high-tech Molybdenum Disulphite (MoS2) coating is applied, serving a dual purpose. It dramatically reduces friction during the critical engine break-in period, protecting the cylinder wall and ensuring mating surfaces seat correctly. This leads to a faster, safer break-in and significantly contributes to increased overall piston life by minimizing initial wear and tear.

Durability is paramount, which is why the piston is heat treated with a T-5 hardening and tempering cycle. This specialized process increases the piston´s structural integrity and hardness, providing exceptional resistance to the extreme temperatures and pressures found inside a high-output four-stroke engine. The result is a piston that maintains its shape and strength, ensuring long-lasting performance and dependability ride after ride.
