ALTUS Snow Shovel

Venture into the winter backcountry with confidence and the right equipment. The ALTUS Snow Shovel is an essential component of your avalanche safety kit, meticulously engineered for reliability, speed, and efficiency when every second is critical. Designed for mountaineers, backcountry skiers, and snowboarders who demand high-performance gear, this shovel provides the functionality you need to face challenging mountain conditions. Its robust construction and intelligent design make it an indispensable tool for emergency rescue, digging snow pits for stability tests, or constructing shelters.

The Snow Shovel is designed to offer functionality and durability in mountain conditions.

Made from aluminum, it combines strength and lightness, with a total weight of just 525 g - making it perfect to carry on your winter adventures. This ultralight profile ensures it won’t weigh you down on the ascent, fitting seamlessly into your pack without sacrificing the resilience required to handle compacted snow and ice.

Its telescopic handle, which extends to 57 cm and folds down to 42 cm, allows for quick and comfortable adjustment to suit different situations. This rapid-deployment system is crucial in an emergency, enabling you to switch from a compact, packable size to a full-length, efficient digging tool in moments. The adjustability also provides ergonomic comfort, reducing fatigue during prolonged use.

The T-shaped grip ensures a firm, ergonomic hold - even when wearing gloves - for ease of use in extreme conditions. This design allows for maximum power transfer from your body to the blade, ensuring every movement is effective and energy is conserved.

Blades

The heart of the shovel is its powerful blade. The shovel head, measuring 28x35 cm, is designed to maximize load capacity without compromising maneuverability, enabling fast and efficient snow removal. The hardened aluminum blade features a sharpened edge to effectively cut through dense avalanche debris and icy layers. Its flat-top design creates clean, smooth walls when digging snow profiles for stability analysis, making it a dual-purpose tool for both safety and snow science. The strategic shape ensures it can move large volumes of snow quickly while remaining agile enough to work in tight spaces.

Lightweight, compact, and durable, the Snow Shovel is an essential tool for those seeking safety and performance in winter environments. By choosing the ALTUS Snow Shovel, you are equipping yourself with a piece of gear that is as serious about mountain safety as you are.
