After using it for a few hours in my garden, I find this headlamp much more pleasant and effective than all the Chinese stuff I have tried since my last Petzl which gave up on me after more than 15 years of regular service, it is also for this reason that I chose a battery-powered headlamp, because my previous Petzl made me invest in rechargeable batteries and since then, all my battery-powered devices contain rechargeable batteries, which I prefer today to batteries that are much more expensive to replace if necessary.

Features of this headlamp, including RGB light with a strobe, waterproofness, shockproofness, and ability of being used with regular AAA batteries made me decide to buy this lamp. The only two downsides in the headlamp I could see from the beginning is, 1) that plastic it’s made of feels a bit cheap to me, 2) (this may be irelevant to many users) no memory of the last used mode - if I use the headlamp for 10 minutes in 100 lumens, and need to use 450 lumens, while pushing the button, the headlamp turns off. When I turn it on again, it turns on with the lowest setting, which is 7 lumens. Not a dealbreaker for me though, but may be important for others, and those should rather check Black Diamond headlamps. Another downside is, that in the package you only receive headlamp and 3 Duracell 1,5V alkaline one use only batteries. Silva Explore 4 offers two more small features in the package for the same price - headlamp mount, so you can mount your headlamp on your belt or backpack, and a small white transport sack, which can be used to hang it on the inside of a tent and it distributes light in the tent. These things can be also bought from Petzl (belt clip excluded), but they cost extra money. Be aware, that this is not a headlamp fault, rather it’s just an buyer opinion. Honestly, I am very happy with this Petzl Aria 2 RGB Camo headlamp

I noticed this site offering the aria 2 at a good price, and I bought 2 for me and my son. Order went all right, delivery on schedule, perfect packaging, even with three small AAA styluses. Yes, it is RGB(E070BA00). Although the petzl website says ARIA 2 RGB, on the box the name is simply ARIA 2.
