Difference between regular and short

What is the difference between regular and short for the length part? Does it have to do with the length of the pants? I am looking for ski pants, I have tried some similar to these in which the size was L/S as it is on the supplier´s website, what is the translation of this size to yours? Thank you.

This has to do with the leg length of the pants. S stands for short. Both pants have the same waistband, only the leg length is shorter on the /S.

Size L fits me as expected and described. I am 1.83 tall with normal/slim build. I ordered the matching jacket as Medium, also according to description and it fits fine.
