"Mark" says: "it needs to be connected via 13amp fused spur point" The product is rated at over 7kW. How do you get that out of a fused 13A spur? 13A at 240V is about 3.15kW. I'd suggest a dedicated hob feed from a 32A breaker is needed.

Agreed, which is what I did, however I was only repeating the instructions and a 13amp spur point is a better option to a 13a plug.
