Nitro Nomad Splitboard – Your Gateway to Backcountry Adventure

Category: Snowboards
Subcategory: Boards

Unlock the freedom of the backcountry with the Nitro Nomad Splitboard, the ultimate tool for riders looking to explore beyond the marked trails. Designed for Adult men and women who hear the call of untouched powder, the Nomad is engineered to make splitboarding accessible, reliable, and incredibly fun. It’s a workhorse of a board built to get you up the mountain efficiently and let you charge down with confidence, no matter the conditions.

The Nomad’s primary mission is to deliver exceptional performance in deep snow. Its Directional Splitboard Shape, combined with a forgiving Flat-Out Rocker profile, allows the nose to rise effortlessly above the powder, giving you a surf-like feel and preventing leg burn on those epic, deep days. This intuitive design makes initiating turns smooth and natural, letting you focus on picking your line through the trees.

When the terrain gets challenging or the snow firms up, the Nomad has your back. Strategically placed Power Pods extend the board´s width under your bindings, creating extra contact points for unparalleled edge hold on icy traverses and hardpacked slopes. This feature, combined with a classic Radial Sidecut, ensures a smooth and controlled ride, giving you the grip and stability you need to navigate technical terrain with certainty.

The versatile All Terrain Flex and Mid-Wide Width make the Nomad a true do-it-all splitboard. It’s responsive enough to handle dynamic turns but forgiving enough to absorb chatter and bumps, providing a balanced and comfortable ride all day long. The mid-wide platform offers improved stability and helps eliminate toe and heel drag for riders with larger boot sizes.

The ascent is just as important as the descent, and the Nomad is equipped with features to make your climb more efficient and secure. The solid and reliable Tip and Tail Locks, paired with Forged T7075 Aluminum Hooks, ensure a torsionally stiff and responsive ride when the two halves are joined. For the way up, the purpose-built Splitboard Core Profile keeps weight to a minimum, while the pre-drilled Nitro x Kohla Skin Attachment System makes transitioning from hike to ride mode quick and seamless.

Competitive features

The Nitro Nmd Splitboard is engineered for riders looking to explore beyond resort boundaries. As a dedicated splitboard, it's built for backcountry and all-mountain adventures, featuring a directional shape and a rocker profile designed for efficient ascents and confident descents. This analysis compares it to several other all-mountain snowboards to highlight its specific strengths in the splitboarding category.

Where it excels

The Nmd is a purpose-built splitboard, equipped with essential backcountry hardware like tip and tail locks, forged T7075 aluminum hooks, and the Nitro x Kohla skin attachment system, making it ready for touring out of the box. It's designed for versatile performance with an 'All Terrain Flex' and 'Power Pods' for enhanced edge grip on variable snow conditions, while its directional shape and rocker profile aid float in powder.
