Good morning. The lens is indeed photochromic and changes darkening depending on the light around it, but when the sun is shining brightly and the lens is completely darkened, it also works as a polarizer, reflecting direct sunlight and protecting your eyes from getting into them.

Yes, it does! I did a fatbike testrun in the sunny weather at living daylight, and later, on a polarrnight conditions. The Artic winter is challening for bikers, The lenses are a must, definetly to go for.

The lenses lighten and darken depending on the ambient light at all times. They are very comfortable because they have a very wide range of utility. I totally recommend them, since that way you forget about having to change lenses for each weather condition.
