You have to connect the adapter to the water outlet that goes to the circulation pump, neither the tube nor the vacuum cleaner can have air in there and the pump has to be primed and working. If you allow air to enter the pipe, the pump will run down and, despite being working, it stops pulling and therefore stops sucking. When the vacuum bag has dirty walls you have to stop, clean and start again. Hope this helps.

Good, I would check that there is no air in the system. Fill the tube with water before connecting it to the cleaner and also make sure that the tubes of the treatment plant do not have air, and if so, eliminate it. Another thing that occurs to me is that you have misassembled the system where the dirt is collected, there is a kind of rubber that prevents what you have sucked from returning to the pool, it acts as a non-return valve.
