B+w MRC Basic 46 mm UV Filter

B+W MRC Basic 46 mm UV Filter

Elevate your photography and provide essential protection for your valuable lens with the B+W MRC Basic 46 mm UV Filter. This indispensable accessory is engineered for photographers who demand both superior image quality and uncompromising lens safety. As a leader in optical filter technology, B+W ensures this filter meets the highest standards of performance and durability, making it a permanent fixture for any 46mm lens.

The classic amongst the B+W protection filters blocks the annoying UV component of daylight. Invisible UV light is more intense in pure sea air and in high mountain regions and can cause blurring and a blueish cast. The colour-neutral B+W 010 UV Haze filter is equally suitable for both analog and digital cameras. It ensures more brilliant images and can remain on the lens permanently as front lens protection.

At its core, this filter is designed to enhance your images by cutting through atmospheric haze. By selectively blocking ultraviolet light, it significantly improves clarity, contrast, and colour saturation, especially in open landscapes, coastal scenes, and high-altitude environments. The result is sharper, more vibrant photos that capture the scene with stunning fidelity, free from the undesirable blueish tint that UV light can introduce.

Beyond its optical benefits, the B+W MRC Basic filter serves as a critical first line of defense for your lens. It shields the delicate front element from dust, sand, fingerprints, moisture, and accidental impacts or scratches. Keeping this filter on your lens at all times provides peace of mind, knowing your investment is protected from the rigors of everyday shooting and adventurous excursions.

The filter features B+W’s renowned Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC). This advanced, multi-layered coating is applied to both sides of the high-quality glass to maximize performance. It drastically reduces reflections and ghosting, ensuring that over 99% of light passes through to the sensor for maximum image brightness and clarity. Furthermore, the MRC coating includes a hardened outer layer that is not only scratch-resistant but also hydrophobic and oleophobic. This means water beads up and rolls right off, while grease and dirt are easily wiped away without smearing, making cleaning in the field quick and effortless. The precision-engineered mount ensures a secure fit and smooth threading onto your lens, preventing binding and guaranteeing long-term reliability.
