A few weeks before the Old Lady snatched away our beloved Jaume Perich in the prime of his life, he had gathered his beloved cats in a volume.

Unfortunately, Perich could not see his last book published, but who knows if he watches us from the other side of the mirror with an ironic smile on his lips.

Perich´s cats are a paradigm of humor and tenderness, where one of the author´s constants is perfectly reflected: his indestructible love for freedom.

A freedom that he served with his incisive pencil from the dark days of the dictatorship and from the peaceful trenches of irony, tenderness, defense of the vulnerable, and the lashing of the powerful.

Jaume Perich (Barcelona 1941-1995) began his professional career at the Bruguera publishing house.

In 1968, he published his first drawings as an illustrator, but it was in 1970 when Perich burst onto the scene as an independent author with the publication of Perich Mach and Autopista, a work that catapulted him to fame.

It is necessary to point out that Autopista (a parody of Camino, a vademecum of Opus Dei) caused irritation among the Francoist authorities, who, as retaliation, forced the publishing company to close.

Since then, Perich´s popularity continued to grow, and he published about twenty more books.

His last original work was published in 1989.

It is worth noting that throughout almost 30 years of his professional life, he regularly collaborated in various media of the written press.

Without a doubt, Perich has been one of the best humorists of our time.
