Devir Pacífica board game

It´s time to rebuild Pacifica, the underwater city. Each player is responsible for one of their districts and you´ll compare your successes in eight categories: Treasure, Population, Resources, Architecture, Knowledge, Machines, Festival, and Diversity. If you win a category, the inhabitants of Pacifica reward you with the corresponding idol.

Pacifica is a game for two players, ages 10 and up, designed by Matthias Prinz and Martin Kallenborn and illustrated by Amber Scharf. Throughout the game, cards from different categories are played, shaping your city district. All cards show one or more symbols. If a player collects a certain number of symbols from a category, they win the idol of that category. The first player to collect 5 idols, or to secure 3 idols in their district, wins the game.

With very few rules and a manual full of examples, you will quickly learn how to play. On their turn, players draw, play and activate cards. Little by little they will build several columns of cards according to their category, forming districts. Depending on the type of card, they can activate different effects, such as increasing the limit of cards in hand, drawing cards or obtaining symbols, among others. When a player has a certain number of symbols active, they can claim the idol of that district. But be careful. The opponent can steal the idol if they exceed the number of the same type of symbols in their district. If a player manages to activate 7 or more symbols, they will secure the idol of that district.

Quick to learn and lasting no more than 30 minutes, Pacifica promises high-voltage strategic duels with an added touch of chance. Reminiscent of the classic Lost Cities, Pacifica will force you to always keep an eye on your opponent´s actions, who can snatch away your precious idols at any moment. The effects of the cards and the variety of the decks (each of the seven decks, corresponding to the seven districts) guarantee many and varied strategies for victory. Rebuild the legendary underwater city and claim victory.
