Devir Revive board game

It´s been 5,000 years since the collapse of humanity. Our planet is a frozen wasteland, but the time has come for you and your people to make civilization flourish again and show the world a new era of splendor. In Revive, each player leads a tribe, seeking to rebuild the world according to their own ideals. They will explore new lands, erect buildings and repopulate the various sites, while discovering mysterious artifacts.

Designed by Helge Meissner, Anna Wermlund, Eilif Svensson and Kristian Amundsen stby, Revive can be played solo or in groups of up to 4 players, aged 14 and up, in games lasting around 100 minutes. In addition to the base game, it also includes a campaign mode, in which components are unlocked. Through different mechanics, players must accumulate the maximum number of points throughout the game, until the last primary artifact has been collected from the board, at which point the tally is made.

One of the most spectacular components of Revive is its personal board. Like a sophisticated control panel, players will use it to use their cards (they must choose whether to opt for the benefits of the top or bottom) and will be able to unlock new slots for machines that will make it easier for them to move around the world. Of course, they must not forget the energy to make them work.

If the personal boards are all the rage, the central board is no exception. From the central rift, players must explore the territories in search of settlements to populate and areas rich in resources to try to build structures around. On the other hand, each tribe has a special power that can guide the strategy from the beginning of the game.

And although at first glance the game may seem intimidating due to its size or apparent complexity, the truth is that the rules can be summed up in one basic rule: on your turn you can do up to 2 of the 5 available actions or hibernate (which serves to recover cards and gain some resources). The five actions are: play a card, use the switch, explore, repopulate and build. It´s that simple.

At the end of the game, players score points from a variety of sources, including artifacts collected, technologies researched, the progress marker, and repopulated sites. They also score points from their artifact card, which is dealt at the start of the game and consists of three different challenges that each player can score points for. For each artifact of the same type, points are multiplied exponentially, so many points can be scored this way.

There are many ways to earn points in Revive there is no single path to victory. Players who enjoy chaining actions together and finding the best strategies to optimise their resources will really enjoy this title. The different tribes, which also have another power on the back of their board, offer variability to each game. Will they bring the world back to life and write a new chapter in human history.
