Immerse yourself in the seemingly tranquil life of a small French village, where Simon stands as an inspiring and beloved Catholic priest, completely dedicated to serving his parish and its community. His life is one of routine, devotion, and unwavering certainty, guided by his sacred vows. However, his world is irrevocably shattered during a service with the sudden appearance of Louise, a woman from a past he left behind long before dedicating his life to the Church. The true shock comes when she introduces him to her 11-year-old son, Aloé, and reveals a life-altering truth: Simon is the boy´s biological father.

This stunning revelation sends tremors through the very foundation of Simon´s existence, forcing him to question all the convictions that have guided his path. He is thrust into a deep internal conflict, torn between his commitment to his parishioners and the undeniable, instinctual pull of fatherhood. Can he continue to be a devoted priest while also fulfilling the essential role of a father to a son who needs him? As he grapples with this personal crisis, he must also navigate the rigid structures of an institution in crisis itself. Unwilling to choose between his two callings, Simon embarks on a courageous and emotional struggle to convince the Church´s representatives that his vow of priesthood is not only compatible with, but can be enriched by, the profound love of being a father.

Directed with sensitivity and emotional depth by Ronan Tronchot, A Good Father features a tour-de-force performance by the acclaimed Grégory Gadebois, who brings a raw and heartfelt humanity to Simon´s plight. This DVD edition allows you to experience this unforgettable story with exceptional clarity. A true gem for any collection of Spanish-language DVDs, this film will resonate with you long after the credits roll, prompting reflection on the nature of love, sacrifice, and the true meaning of a meaningful life.
