The film introduces us to Ibrahim, a young man from Guinea Conakry whose life in Madrid, alongside his family, is abruptly shattered. Powerfully portrayed by Moussa Sylla, Ibrahim is arrested one day by the police for not having a residence permit and is forcibly deported back to his country of origin. From that moment, a singular, all-consuming goal drives him: to return to Spain and reunite with the life he was forced to leave behind. His arduous journey across the African continent is a testament to his resilience and determination.

He eventually finds himself in a precarious refugee camp, a limbo located on the border between Africa and Europe. It is here that his path crosses with Aminata (played by Edith Martinez-Val), a young woman who shares his fierce determination to jump the imposing border fence and reach Spanish soil. Together, they face the ultimate challenge—a daunting physical and emotional feat that tests the limits of their endurance, a leap of faith that not everyone is capable of achieving. *El Salto* is more than a film; it is an urgent and empathetic look at the realities of immigration, exploring themes of belonging, sacrifice, and the unbreakable bonds forged in the face of overwhelming adversity.
