Relive a Danish Comedy Masterpiece: Far Laver Sovsen on DVD

Step back in time and immerse yourself in the golden age of Danish cinema with "Far Laver Sovsen" (Dad Makes the Gravy), a timeless and heartwarming family comedy from 1967. Now available in the Fan Zone on a pristine DVD, this film is a must-have for collectors, enthusiasts of classic European movies, and anyone looking for a delightful dose of nostalgia. From the legendary Palladium studios, this beloved "folkekomedie" (people´s comedy) continues to charm audiences with its witty script, endearing characters, and a hilarious look at family dynamics.

The story centers on Herbert, a struggling writer and dedicated family man, played by the charismatic Ib Mossin. When his wife wins a much-needed vacation, Herbert sees the perfect opportunity to finally finish his novel in peace and quiet. However, his plans for solitary creative genius are quickly upended as he is left in charge of the household and their three children. What follows is a cascade of comical disasters and side-splitting situations as the well-meaning but hopelessly out-of-his-depth father attempts to navigate the chaotic worlds of cooking, cleaning, and childcare. His culinary pièce de résistance, the gravy, becomes a legendary symbol of his hilarious ineptitude.
