Dvd Funny Farm (1988) DVD

Relive the hilarious chaos of country living with the Funny Farm (1988) DVD, a timeless comedy classic starring the legendary Chevy Chase. Perfect for fans of 80s cinema and fish-out-of-water tales, this DVD brings home the unforgettable story of a city couple´s disastrous attempt to find peace and quiet in the countryside. Add this must-own piece of comedic history to your DVD & Blu-ray collection and prepare for non-stop laughter.

Escape the city rat race alongside Andy Farmer (Chevy Chase), a successful sportswriter, and his wife, Elizabeth (Madolyn Smith), as they trade their Manhattan apartment for a sprawling, idyllic farmhouse in the quaint Vermont town of Redbud. Their dream is simple: fresh air, friendly neighbors, and the perfect serene environment for Andy to finally write his great novel. However, the dream quickly turns into a side-splitting nightmare. From a mailman who charges by the letter to a sheriff who drives at a snail´s pace and a town full of eccentric, unhelpful locals, their new life is anything but peaceful. The house itself is a character, complete with a resident snake, a corpse in the garden, and a moving company that leaves their furniture in the middle of the road.

This beloved film, directed by the acclaimed George Roy Hill (*The Sting*, *Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid*), masterfully showcases Chevy Chase´s signature deadpan delivery and expert physical comedy. You´ll howl with laughter as Andy´s frustration builds with every bizarre encounter and catastrophic event. The film´s charm lies in its brilliant contrast between the picturesque New England setting and the utterly dysfunctional reality of living there. It’s a story that remains relatable and uproariously funny, celebrating the idea that sometimes the simple life is the most complicated of all.
