Shigurui 03: The Path of the Death-Frenzied Samurai Continues

Immerse yourself in the visceral and hauntingly beautiful world of feudal Japan with Shigurui 03, the next gripping installment in the critically acclaimed samurai saga from Editorial Ivrea. This is not a tale of honor and glory; it is a profound and unflinching exploration of ambition, cruelty, and the devastating consequences of a life dedicated to the sword. Perfect for connoisseurs of mature historical fiction and masterful graphic storytelling, this volume continues the dark and intricate narrative that has captivated readers worldwide.

Experience a story that transcends the typical samurai genre. A raw and violent story, based on the first chapter of the novel ´Surugajo Gozen Jiai´ by Norio Nanjo, expanded and rewritten for its manga format. This literary foundation provides Shigurui with an unparalleled depth and psychological complexity, setting it apart as a true masterpiece of seinen manga. The narrative is a meticulously crafted descent into the abyss, where the line between master and monster blurs with every stroke of the blade. The stunningly detailed and hyper-realistic artwork by Takayuki Yamaguchi brings the brutal elegance of the Kogan-ryu sword style to life, capturing every tense moment and visceral impact with breathtaking precision.

The stage for this unforgettable tragedy was set in a time of decadent peace. The series begins in the sixth year of the Kanei era. Tired of the martial arts tournaments in Suruga and eager to see blood, Dainagon Tokugawa Tadanaka orders two of his men to engage in a deadly sword duel for his amusement. The participants are Fujiki Gennosuke and Irako Seigen, whose stories and mysteries will be revealed in this manga, Shigurui. As the narrative continues to unfold in this third volume, the intricate web of rivalries, betrayals, and dark pasts connecting these two fated swordsmen is drawn ever tighter. Witness the continuation of their journey, a path paved with sacrifice and obsession, as they move inexorably toward their fateful confrontation.
