It's a good watch. It has everything you need for running. I'm selling my Garmin Swim 2, which I bought because I wasn't into running at the time, but it fell short. I couldn't program workouts or set pace alarms, which are essential for running and which the Forerunner 255 definitely has. I also like all the data it offers, like VO2 max, HRV, etc.

I had a fenix 5 sapphire before, but found it a bit too bulky for everyday use, and since it had a metal housing it was moving/bouncing around while running. I was looking for a lighter watch for everyday/more practical use. I was hesitating between the forerunner 255 and the coros pace 3. I chose the garmin, partly because i found it with a great discount here, partly because i wasn’t a fan of the touch screen and the crown menu button on the coros. Another plus for me was, that ai already had the garmin app, so I didn’t have to get used to another app, also the buttons are the same as they were on my fenix 5 so to get everything working, was a breeze. It is definitely an upgrade over my previous garmin, as syncing is much faster with the phone (iphone 12 pro) and I haven’t used a lot of features of the other watch - I mainly go climbing and running. I’m super happy with the purchase!

The heart rate monitor is more accurate, and compared to a chest strap, the deviation is very small—1 or 2 beats. It remains to be seen how it performs in open water. As a beginner in running, I find it perfect. It contains all the useful features for running but also for many other types of activities. Bought to replace a Polar, there is no comparison. The watch is cheaper, much more complete and the application much more readable and understandable. Bravo Garmin. In addition, it pairs perfectly with my Garmin edge 530 computer. I chose this watch out of spite when my Garmin 735 broke down 1 month before my first Ironman. And I'm super pleasantly surprised by everything it offers, especially the triathlon mode. The GPS works very well in other freestyle. The navigation mode works very well on a bike (provided you have a small support on the handlebars). I still have to see how the battery lasts over a long day of sport.

Smartwatch with a sporty vocation. Beautiful watch, with up to 12 days of battery life. The non-touchscreen version is very easy to navigate with the buttons. The MIP display is a bit less bright than an AMOLED display, but it's easier to read in direct sunlight and lasts longer. I use it every day on my commute because it has a simple, elegant look, but its true nature really shines when used for sports (hiking, mountain biking, paddle tennis, or even just walking). The GPS is accurate and fast for positioning. The smart features are also excellent: calls, messages, and app notifications are always on time. Highly recommended purchase!

Bought mainly to compensate for my lack of sense of direction, which it does wonderfully, importing GPX files, or creating routes are easy, navigation is efficient on the screen, (be careful, voice guidance is not always in sync). But in addition to becoming my outing colleague, this watch has become my coach with multiple tracking parameters. Very well suited for an amateur like me 2/3 Trail outings per week, from 13 to 20 km per outing and a bib from time to time. For the Ultra addict, the autonomy is a little tight. Conclusion: very very good value for money
