As a loyal Garmin customer who has purchased more than 20 Garmin products, I was looking to upgrade over my Edge 830. I balked a bit at the price on the latest Edge and looked instead at some of the features on the K2. It was on sale when I bought it. I was very impressed. Bright screen, connected to all my devices like heart rate monitors and power meters - even the Garmin Varia radar thing. I like this Karoo 2. It's great. Very happy with this product.

This is my 1st CC so I can't compare but anyhow, I have not found anything wrong, annoying. I've mounted CC on bike more than 3 months ago and I'm fully satisfied. Hammerhead survived fall on the route (+30 km/h) and it works correctly. The visibility in sunny days is perfect, also control buttons or touch screens work fine. I recommend this product.

Still haven't got to grips with all the features but just the map clarity & responsive 'phone like' screen are winners. So far it's a big thumbs up. Purchased Karoo 2 at a great price from BikeInn. Really enjoy the GPS. Big step up from old Magellan I used to have. Mapping is great - very bright and clear, and live climb is a nice feature. Nice to set up different profiles to view different sets of data. Also like being able to download workout wirelessly to Strava and RWGPS. I use the Garmin quarter-turn adapter for mounting (no issues). Only downside is shorter battery life than some - but I can live with it. So far it's been reliable and very intuitive to use.

Bought 2 months ago, cannot stop enjoying all features, customizable screens and smoothness of connecting external sensors. Display is great, allows to read all information, you can set up popping up navigation screen when need to turn, so its great for training / racing / touring. Battery stays for more than claimed 10 hours, so enough for average training week + commutes. Did race +5 hours with route turned on - 41% used so its a guarantee for a weekend trip. You can upload the route on the go and also remove it when changed plans. Very easy to upload any maps to cloud.

Super finde ich die Go Home Funktion. Man kann einfach losfahren und dann einfach sich nach Hause navigieren lassen.

When I first read about the Hammerhead Karoo 2 in a "best bike computers" comparative analysis, I immediately liked the fresh, logical interpretation of an old problem, and felt it was a good direction for development. I don't know yet if I need map navigation on my bike at all, I'm not a bike tourer, but when the Karoo 2 was available for about half price I didn't resist. I hadn't even opened the box yet, and the box itself was something that suggested very high quality. (I got it in the deep grey cardboard box, and there's a USB-C rubber plug in the box from the factory.) "There's material in it" as they say, which makes both the device and its mounting bracket heavier than usual. But in numerical terms we're talking about 5-6 decagrams compared to computers in a similar category. It's a big sip of water in the bidon...! I guess if it's not a problem for Chris Froome, it won't be for me either. The picture quality of the screen is incomparably better than anything I've seen on a GPS device to date. But the point is the software performance. I've been involved in software development since I was a kid, I've been working as a CIO for decades. I'm very geeky. I see that the Karoo 2 firmware (the Android fork and builtin apps), the Dashboard web and the Companion app implement a well thought out and unified concept. () The setup for me was a straightforward operation that was easy to follow, and the user interface operation was completely ergonomic also during a ride. I received the device yesterday, I haven't had the chance to test it on a bike yet, but I did test the map navigation by car. I've returned other lower-end GPS computers after car-testing (not one...), but this one does the job as it should. Replanning on the fly is especially good in the case of leaving the preplanned route. The auto stop - auto start function seems to work better than on my other old computers, The auto stop / auto start function seems to work better than on my other old computers, but it seems that Strava does not accept the given values, but invents something else according to its own rules. Ride With GPS and Komoot receive the data flawlessly. The computer synch to these accounts lightning fast via Wi-Fi (and I have no other accounts). Hammerhead focuses on the Karoo 2 firmware. The Companion app doesn't have any functionality, it's just a bridge for phone notifications. (If you have another SIM card inserted in the Karoo 2, it is not necessary.) The Dashboard web is simple and easy to use. In terms of analysis, it does not provide as much functionality as Strava or especially Training Peaks, but that is not its purpose either. The route planning is correct, but it does not have many additional functions like Komoot or Ride with GPS, but it takes over the planned routes from them very smoothly. Hammerhead (both the Dashboard and the Karoo 2 firmware on the unit) use the OSM map, in my opinion this open community solution was a much better choice on their part than building a proprietary model. You don't have to (and can't) download anything to the Karoo 2, the concept is different from that of other manufacturers, what's on the dashboard is also there on the computer. Anyone who likes to use the tiny (rather big for a bike GPS unit) touch screen doesn't even need a Dashboard, everything can be set and done on the Karoo 2. Plus one: I already had a way to correspond with customer service. They don't reject you, they don't take type answers from the account, but they read the announcement carefully and try to help in a very specific way. Five starts without argument.

I recently upgraded from a Wahoo Bolt V2 to the Hammerhead Karoo 2. One of the standout features is the Hammerhead's comprehensive data customisation. I've set up separate profiles for my gravel and road bike which allows me to personalise the data fields (screens I see) and the screen layouts according to my preferences. This allows me to focus on the metrics that matter most to me for each ride (e.g maps are one swipe away on my road bike). The intuitive -touch- user interface makes navigation a breeze, helping me stay focused on the road ahead without any hassle. Especially things like notifications and climbs.
