Lego Spike Essential Educational Toy

LEGO® Education SPIKE Essential awakens students´ interest in hands-on STEAM learning.

This playful, story-based learning experience is part of the LEGO Learning System and encourages students to explore STEAM concepts while nurturing their social-emotional development, language, and math skills.

This 449-piece set features four minifigures, each with their own personality, who act as storytellers to make problem-solving relatable to all students.

Icon- and word-based block coding with simple hardware (including a two-port smart hub, two small motors, a light matrix, and a color sensor) also brings students´ creations to life.

The set also includes a colorful selection of familiar, age-appropriate LEGO bricks, spare elements, and a durable storage box with color-coded sorting trays to make building and classroom management easier.

SPIKE Essential, part of the LEGO Learning System, offers five units containing eight 45-minute lessons of curriculum-aligned STEAM content.

Each lesson includes comprehensive online lesson plans with additional math and language activities.

In addition, we provide assessment rubrics and teacher support videos.

To help teachers build confidence and prepare them for successful STEAM teaching using the LEGO Learning System, SPIKE Essential is backed by a comprehensive professional development program.
