After the cancellation of the original volume of What If, the series resurfaced briefly in 1988, with a special that addressed what would have happened if Tony Stark had been a traitor, to finally return a year later, to address the events of modern Marvel, with a renewed generation of authors including Greg Capullo, Mark Bagley, Jim Valentino or Rob Liefeld, who wondered what would have happened if The Avengers had lost the Evolutionary War, if Daredevil had killed Kingpin during ´´Born Again´´, if the alien symbiote had possessed Peter Parker or if Wolverine was a SHIELD agent.

This volume presents the first year of the renewed What If.
