WD Red Pro 3.5´´ 12TB HDD

Enterprise-class hard drives designed to deliver high performance and reliability in commercial and enterprise NAS environments.

WD Red Pro drives are designed to handle intensive workloads in multi-user commercial and enterprise NAS environments operating 24/7.

WD Red Pro drives offer the performance, scalability, and reliability that businesses need to store, share, and collaborate on large amounts of data in multi-bay NAS systems optimized for RAID.

Optimized for NAS with NASware™.

Western Digital´s exclusive NASware™ technology fine-tunes drive parameters to match NAS system workloads, helping to increase performance and reliability.

Designed for continuous operation.

WD Red Pro hard drives are built to withstand the demanding needs of high-intensity, multi-user NAS environments operating 24/7, and to increase system durability.

Tested for reliable compatibility.

Western Digital collaborates with a wide range of NAS system vendors for extensive testing to ensure compatibility with most NAS enclosures.

Protected against excessive vibration.

WD Red Pro drives incorporate rotational vibration (RV) sensors that proactively anticipate and counteract disturbances caused by increased vibration.

By dispersing excess vibration throughout the drive chassis, turbulence is minimized, performance is maintained, and drives are protected.

Designed to absorb impacts.

WD Red Pro hard drives include a multi-axis shock sensor to detect subtle impacts and automatically compensate with dynamic fly-height technology to further protect drives in NAS enclosures.

Designed with industry-leading technology.

WD Red Pro hard drives in 22TB, 24TB, and 26TB capacities incorporate Western Digital´s proprietary OptiNAND™ technology, which leverages on-drive iNAND flash memory to perform key maintenance functions, freeing up more capacity and improving overall drive performance.

Desktop Hard Drives vs. WD Red® Pro.

It´s important to choose a hard drive specifically designed for RAID-optimized NAS systems to ensure optimal performance and preserve your valuable data.

Consider the following when choosing a hard drive for your NAS: Compatibility: Unlike desktop hard drives, WD Red Pro hard drives are specifically designed and tested for NAS and include NASware™ technology that adjusts drive parameters to match NAS system workloads for optimal performance.

Reliability: Desktop hard drives are generally not designed for the demands of an always-on NAS environment.

WD Red Pro hard drives are built to operate in harsh conditions found in high-intensity, 24x7 multi-user NAS environments.

RAID Ready: WD Red hard drives are designed with RAID error recovery control to help reduce failures within multi-bay NAS systems, unlike most desktop hard drives which are configured for generic use.

Protection against noise and vibration: Designed to operate alone, desktop hard drives generally offer little to no protection against the noise and vibration present in a multi-drive system.

WD Red hard drives include rotational vibration (RV) sensors that proactively anticipate and counteract disturbances caused by increased vibration typically found in multi-bay NAS systems.
