Dont expect a Swiss Army knife of a jacket, this is a specialised jacket for a specific purpose - keeping you dry and cool whilst travelling light and fast. That said this is an exceptional shell, light, flexible, great water proofing and amazingly breathable ( I am known to have a column of steam rising from the top of my head - not with this jacket). There are two deep handwarmer pockets (Left pocket has goggle wipe on stretchy leash), left and right chest pocket with media specific and cable routing on left breast. Both chest pockets double as additional venting; dual zip underarm vents without mesh lining which in my opinion makes their venting a lot more efficient. In terms of snow and water ingress, mesh lining vents make little difference. Zips are water resistant and inverted with zip garages to prevent leakage. Internal fixed snow skirt with jacket to pant attachment system - one that you can use on any trousers or bibs with belt loops - much better than proprietary systems.I generally board with a small pack eg a 10-12 litre running pack or similar, water, spare gloves and safety gear go in there, not my jacket pockets. What you dont get; There is no insulation - you will need mid and base layer on the cold days; no goggle pocket - wear your goggles instead or use the huge handwarmer pockets; no pass pocket - to me that is an issue as I'm predmoninantly on pistes - I just stuff my pass in the back of my glove liner - problem solved; no wrist gaiters - you don't need them on this jacket as the wrist straps are designed to come over and around the thumb sealing the sleave.
