Salton Sea is a very unique place, located in California, very close to the border with Mexico. The characteristics of this salt lake make it a unique location for generating geothermal energy, which takes advantage of the heat from the interior of the planet. In this area of intense geothermal activity, you will drill into the ground and extract steam and hot water to obtain brine, which once processed will allow you to generate precious lithium. A modern industry, far from fossil fuels, that will allow you to lead the energy transition towards a completely renewable future. Designed by David Bernal and illustrated by Amelia Sales, Salton Sea can be enjoyed alone or in groups of up to 4 players, from 14 years old, in sessions lasting about 120 minutes. During the game, players must manage their geothermal companies for brine extraction and geothermal energy and lithium generation to obtain the highest number of victory points . The efficient management of your industrial capacity and key decision-making will be the driving force of your company. On your turn, you place one of your four engineers on one of the available spaces to perform an action. There are three distinct groups of actions: industrial actions (which allow you to obtain exploration licenses, drill, extract, process and repair machinery), commercial actions (sell, acquire contract and execute contract) and management actions (research, buy shares, develop the business project or finance). It is up to you how to manage your engineers at each point in the game to get the most out of your company. However, there is no single path to success. There are many ways to earn victory points. The game will reward you for exhausted land, executed contracts, short-term objectives, company development or research advances.
