Rode WS12 Deluxe Windscreen camera microphone

RODE WS12 Deluxe Windscreen for VideoMic GO II

Capture crystal-clear, professional-grade audio in any outdoor environment with the RODE WS12 Deluxe Windscreen. When you´re recording outdoors, nothing ruins a perfect take faster than the disruptive roar of wind. Engineered specifically as a professional windscreen for the highly acclaimed RØDE VideoMic GO II microphone, the WS12 is your ultimate defense against the elements, ensuring your audience hears your message, not the weather. This essential accessory is a must-have for any videographer, filmmaker, vlogger, or content creator who demands pristine sound quality, regardless of the recording conditions.

The WS12 is meticulously constructed to provide maximum protection without compromising audio fidelity. It is made of high-density open-cell foam which is then covered with a luxurious, acoustically transparent synthetic fur. This dual-layer design is exceptionally effective at dissipating wind energy before it can strike the microphone capsule. This sophisticated construction minimises distracting wind noise and significantly reduces harsh plosive sounds—those unwanted pops from ´p´ and ´b´ consonants—when recording dialogue or voiceovers close to the microphone. The result is a cleaner, more intelligible, and professional-sounding audio track straight from your camera.

A truly innovative feature that sets the WS12 apart is the included synthetic rubber wind seal. This clever, purpose-built component is designed to perfectly block any of the microphone´s unused jacks, whether it´s the USB-C or the 3.5 mm output. This crucial step prevents wind from entering the rear of the microphone body, a common and often overlooked source of low-frequency rumble and interference that can spoil an otherwise perfect recording. By sealing the entire microphone system, the WS12 provides comprehensive, 360-degree protection against adverse weather. Whether you are on a windy beach, a bustling city street, or a mountain summit, the WS12 empowers your VideoMic GO II to perform at its absolute best.
