Tebeos Dolmen Editorial Ideas Negras comic

Black Ideas: A timeless satire by André Franquin

Originally published between 1977 and 1983 in the supplement Le Trombone illustré and the magazine Fluide Glacial, André Franquin (Gaston Lagaffe, Spirou and Fantasio) uses black humor as a mechanism for social criticism and denunciation, in a succession of sharp gags against religion, the death penalty, war, nuclear energy, and in favor of animal rights and the environment.

Black Ideas is a work that, half a century later, is still more relevant than ever and demonstrates the reivindicative nature of comics.

This deluxe edition includes all the original comic strips signed by one of the most important authors in the history of bande dessinée, as well as numerous extras such as sketches, articles, and several interviews that delve into and dissect the life and work of the author, including two pieces signed by Ángel de la Calle (War Paintings) and Jordi Canyissà (Ibáñez. The Master of Comics).

"In Black Ideas, Franquin stirs the pot and what comes out is pain, denunciation, sorrow, and death. His drawing is not an aesthetic whim, it is a necessity. The Franquin of Black Ideas is the Goya of the Quinta del Sordo, he is the scream, he is the cry, he is the emotional tearing."

Jordi Canyissà (Ibáñez. The Master of Comics)
