APEKS Back Aluminium Backplate

Plates

Discover the core of a truly modular and stable dive configuration with the APEKS Aluminium Backplate. Expertly engineered to serve as the ultimate foundation for your buoyancy system, this plate is the starting point for a streamlined, comfortable, and controlled underwater experience. It stands as the literal backbone of your dive rig, offering unparalleled versatility and performance. Whether you´re building a new technical rig from scratch or upgrading your current setup, this backplate provides the essential structure you need to dive with absolute confidence and precision.

Unparalleled Versatility and Integration
The APEKS backplate is cleverly designed for maximum compatibility. It seamlessly integrates with a standard webbed harness for a minimalist, traditional setup, or it can be easily inserted into the advanced Apeks WTX Harness for a more feature-rich, comfortable configuration. This adaptability makes it the perfect choice for divers who want a system that can evolve with their skills and dive preferences, from recreational single-tank diving to more demanding technical explorations.

Superior Single Cylinder Stability
Move beyond the instability of traditional two-slot plates. The APEKS Aluminium Backplate features an innovative design with four dedicated upper and four lower slots to accommodate nylon cylinder bands. This advanced system allows you to strap a single cylinder directly to the plate, providing exceptional lateral stability and completely preventing tank roll during your dive. Experience a more secure and balanced rig, allowing you to focus on your dive, not your gear.

Precision-Tuned Trim and Adjustment
Achieve perfect trim and a fully customized fit with the plate’s intelligent adjustment options. Three holes located at the top of the plate offer a wide range of height adjustments for your buoyancy cell and cylinders, allowing you to position your gear for optimal balance and hydrodynamics in the water. Furthermore, a corresponding lower center slot provides crucial flexibility, accommodating lower band bolts that may be misaligned, ensuring a perfect fit with a variety of cylinder and band configurations.

Extensive Accessory Mounting Options
Your dive rig, your way. The plate is thoughtfully designed with a 2-inch wide crotch strap slot for enhanced in-water security and stability. A complete series of upper and lower perimeter holes along both sides, as well as additional holes along the bottom, provide ample mounting points for all your essential accessories. Confidently attach lift bag pouches, canister lights, spools, and more, customizing your setup without compromise for any dive mission.

Robust Construction and Premium Finish
Built to withstand the rigors of the most demanding dive environments, this plate is crafted from high-grade 6061 aluminium, offering an ideal balance of robust strength and lightweight performance for travel and handling. The durable, textured electro-plate finish not only enhances its durability and corrosion resistance but also provides a sleek, professional aesthetic. A final touch of quality is the laser-etched Apeks logo, a testament to the plate´s superior engineering and heritage.
