Everything you need to know about a diving regulator
Octopus Regulator
The
octopus is an important gear used by scuba divers. It is simply an additional second stage regulator, very comparable to the basic second stage regulator that you put in your mouth while diving. However, the
scuba octopus often comes in yellow color, with a glowing yellow hose also.
Octopus regulator permits it to withstand under the water in troubling conditions.
Regulator bags
The
regulator bags are the sacks that are used to keep your regulator, octopus, and other related gears secure while traveling. The
regulator bags often come with Velcro belts in the central case to maintain all hoses in position while in motion. The
regulator bags come in many different varieties and sizes.
First stage regulators
They are responsible for reducing the high pressure air stored in a scuba cylinder to an intermediate pressure suitable for breathing.
The
first stage regulator attaches to your scuba gas cylinder and lowers the high pressure of gas it holds down to medium pressure of between 7 and 10 bar. This can then be provided through a hose to your
second stage regulator for you to respire.
Second stage regulators
Second stage regulators, also known as demand valves or regulators, are an important component of a scuba diving breathing system. They are responsible for delivering air from the first stage regulator to the diver´s mouth upon inhalation. The main role of the
regulator 2nd stage is to lessen intermediate pressure air crossing through a regulator hose to normal pressure the pressure of the water present in surroundings that a diver can respire easily. A high quality regulator´s second stage can greatly relieve pressure and improve scuba diver safety.
Regulators set
A
regulator set is created up of these items:
1st regulator stage is the glossy piece that is set onto the cylinder valve.
Regulator 2nd stage is the direct regulator that you place in your mouth and respire from. The additional air source is called octopus and is the secondary regulator functional for your companion.
