Kraken S160 beam reducer

Kraken S160 Beam Reducer | Precision Light Control for Underwater Photography

Unlock the full creative potential of your underwater strobe with the Kraken S160 Beam Reducer, the essential accessory for every serious underwater photographer. This light reduction ring is specially designed for a perfect fit with the renowned Kraken KR-S160 flash, transforming its wide beam into a focused, controllable spotlight. Dive into a new world of lighting precision and capture images with unparalleled clarity and artistic flair. Reducing the flash light will allow you new photography options and give you new opportunities to use your flash.

The primary function of this expertly engineered reducer is to give you complete command over your lighting. The reduction ring allows you to control the opening angle and light direction of your flash, narrowing the beam to a precise cone. This capability is a game-changer in challenging underwater conditions. It’s perfect for macro and shooting in murky environments, where controlling light is the key to a successful shot. By concentrating the light, you can dramatically minimize backscatter—the distracting bright specks caused by light reflecting off particles in the water—resulting in cleaner, crisper, and more professional-looking images.

For macro photography enthusiasts, the S160 Beam Reducer is an indispensable tool. Isolate your tiny subjects with a focused beam of light, creating a dramatic "snoot" effect that makes them pop against a dark, beautifully rendered background. Highlight the intricate details of a nudibranch, the delicate texture of a coral polyp, or the translucent body of a shrimp. This accessory empowers you to move beyond simple illumination and start painting with light, adding depth, dimension, and a powerful narrative to your close-up shots.

Key Benefits:

* Eliminate Backscatter: By narrowing the light beam, you prevent the illumination of the water column between your lens and the subject, leading to crystal-clear photos, even in low-visibility conditions.
* Creative Subject Isolation: Achieve a professional studio-like effect underwater. Use the focused beam to spotlight your subject, creating dramatic contrast and drawing the viewer´s eye exactly where you want it.
* Enhanced Macro Detail: Reveal the finest details and textures in your macro subjects by concentrating light precisely where it´s needed, avoiding overexposure of the surrounding area.
* Versatile Lighting Control: Gain a new level of artistic control over your strobe, enabling advanced techniques like snooting, side-lighting, and back-lighting for dynamic and compelling compositions.
