The Surface Marker Bouy has weights in the lower part that will keep it upright. The lower part is only the weights that keep the bag open or closed, no valve. This can be positive or negative, depending on what is expected. Both sides of the sausage have solid straps, and solid hooks and it comes with ropes that can be used to release the buoy. It is not easy to position the amount of air in the sausage and you risk that air escapes into the surface.

It comes complete with a very long rope, small steel plate inside the buoy to keep it afloat together with a small pouch bag. I think it's actually quite big to attach it on your BCD but i haven't try it underwater yet.
