Victor

Hi, What is the thread size and style of both ends Thanks

Answer of Bob

3/8" male thread for the first stage connection and 9/16" female thread for the second stage connection. Standard. As below; The majority of regulator and octopus hoses have a 3/8"-24 male UNF thread for the first stage connection with a standard 9/16"-18 female UNF scuba style nut for connection to the second stage regulator. Certain Mares and older Apeks first stage regulators have larger 1/2"-20 female UNF thread ports.

The hose's lightweight and ultra-flexible nature significantly improves comfort and reduces jaw fatigue during a dive. Its reliable performance and standard 3/8" connections ensure compatibility and security, while the availability of multiple colors, including this vibrant green, adds a personalized touch to their gear.

Competitive features

When evaluating the Miflex Xtr 3/8 Hose, it's important to recognize its specific role as a component rather than a complete system. Unlike the full regulator sets from Metalsub, Beuchat, and Seac, the Miflex Xtr is a braided scuba regulator hose designed to upgrade or replace the hose on an existing regulator. This fundamental difference in product type is reflected across all comparison points, particularly in function and price.

Where it excels

The Miflex Xtr hose offers an exceptionally affordable way to enhance a diving setup. As a single component, its price point is significantly lower than purchasing a full regulator set, making it an accessible upgrade. Described as ultra-flexible and lightweight, the Miflex Xtr hose is designed to improve comfort by reducing jaw strain and resistance in the water compared to traditional rubber hoses. With its braided nylon exterior, the hose is built for durability and resistance to wear, ensuring reliability. It also offers customization with a variety of available colors.

Consider alternatives if...

If you need a complete breathing apparatus, including first and second stages, the competitor products are the appropriate choice. The Miflex Xtr is only a hose and cannot function as a standalone regulator.

Verdict

The Miflex Xtr 3/8 Hose is not a direct competitor to the full regulator sets from Metalsub, Beuchat, and Seac. Instead, it serves as a high-value performance upgrade for divers who already own a regulator. Its primary advantages are its flexibility, lightweight design, and durability, which contribute to a more comfortable dive. For those looking to improve their current gear without investing in a new system, the Miflex hose is an excellent choice.
