The mask is intended to be connected to your scuba air / nitrox cylinder via a low pressure hose via your first stage. There is a snorkel function for use at the surface. This is designed to be closed on descent and the mask then automatically switches to gas from you cylinder.

Yes this is a difficult question. It will work without a hood if you don’t have facial hair. I have a beard so it is always a hood for me. You need a hood specially made for a FFM. It has bare neoprene around the face and should have a smaller opening than ordinary hoods. The ones I have is WATERPROOF H2 5/10mm sandwich and Northern Diver 5mm SV Dive Hood (Skin Face Seal). Poseidon also makes 5 mm Black Line Hood that should work. There are also a bunch of others. Google for a FFM Diving hood. The main problem with all of these is you really should try them on with the mask to make sure you have a good seal since the morphology of your face makes a big difference how the mask would seal agains the hood.

For the Ocean Reef Neptune III Full Face Mask the surface valve is already on the mask on the left, no need to purchase one.

The Ocean Reef basic mask does not have a rim that can be used to attach equipment like a GoPro or a flashlight, etc. Also, a true basic standard full face mask, you can only breathe through your mouth, because you insert your personal second stage. So a basic full face mask is like a standard extended version mask that covers the mouth which can be beneficial when diving under ice like here in Canada, to not freeze your lips too much, two totally different products.

It's a good choice. If you are a man the you need the M-L and If you are a lady then the S-M generally. There is a great deal of adjustment available for full comfort with the head strap supplied. Yes you can travel with and all dive fittings are universal so I can't see any problems. Just make sure the head straps are tight and your breathing is smooth and controlled. erratic breathing can cause the mask to billow which is quite uncomfortable. Good luck

Yes it will but you need to get used to it first, breathing through your nose is natural out of the water but takes getting used to under the water. So don't expect instant sucess.

Everything is included for use, but if you want to disconnect the mask from the first stage and hose, you must purchase the quick coupling separately.

The suitability for cold water rests in the first stage not the demand valve. You want it to use for cold water pick a suitable first stage. Personally I use Apeks XTX200 and DS4

I needed to have both to see far and up close otherwise I could not see my instruments. So I went to an optometrist and he fitted prescription progressive lenses. I am sure your local optometrist can fit any lens you want. The glasses OR frames are designed for that essentially.

It has the professional SAV. If by extender you mean the plastic frame that permits mounting of lights, coms etc. then yes it comes with it as in the picture

Not really sure what you mean? The first stage is what is rated to 230 or 300 bar, not the mask, that only has the second stage. Whatever first stage you hook to it, as long as it it has the correct intemediate pressure it will work. But are you sure you're are technically ready for a FFM as this can be dangeous in inexperianced hands..?

Hi there. I wouldn't go to 300bar as it could damage the tank as well as hose connections and your second stage reg. I use my mask from 230bar and its never let me down.

I have done some fantastic dives with my new mask. I have a quick release hose connection which makes it easy to connect and change air tanks. I also purchase quality branded air hoses for added ease and comfort. If a diver requires oxygen then I would hope someone who is competent in administering this is present. The mask should be removed before and the correct mask used as its a highly flammable gas and there may be some petrochemicals present which could be problematic. I have used my mask for enriched air 38% (Nitrox) and I had it cleaned by a dive shop to prepare for this.

You don´t breathe oxygen, you breathe air, it is a second stage integrated into a mask.
