OMS Backplate Without Harness

OMS Backplate: The Foundation for Your Ultimate Dive Rig

Discover the core of a truly modular and high-performance buoyancy system with the OMS Backplate. Designed for the discerning diver who demands unparalleled control, stability, and a custom-fit configuration, this backplate serves as the rugged foundation for your entire scuba setup. Whether you are a technical diver exploring deep wrecks or a recreational diver seeking a more streamlined and comfortable experience, the OMS Backplate provides the ultimate platform to build your perfect rig. By separating the plate from the harness, you gain the freedom to create a system that is uniquely yours, tailored precisely to your body, your diving style, and your specific mission.

The OMS Backplate is engineered to deliver superior in-water stability by securely mounting your cylinder directly to your body´s core. This rigid connection eliminates the tank roll and shifting common with traditional jacket-style BCDs, resulting in improved trim, reduced drag, and more efficient propulsion through the water. This enhanced stability not only boosts confidence but can also lead to lower gas consumption and greater overall comfort during your dive.

Key Benefits:

* Unmatched Customization: As a standalone component, this backplate allows you to choose your preferred OMS harness, wing, and accessories to build a BCD from the ground up that perfectly matches your needs.
* Superior Stability and Trim: Provides a rigid and stable platform for single or double cylinders, significantly improving your in-water balance and making it easier to maintain perfect horizontal trim.
* Enhanced Comfort: The design includes a subtle bend at the lower section, conforming more naturally to the diver´s back and hips for increased comfort during long dives.
* Exceptional Durability: Constructed from high-grade materials, this backplate is built to withstand the rigors of demanding dive environments, offering a lifetime of reliable performance.

Main Features:

* Versatile Mounting Options: Features multiple slots and perimeter holes strategically placed for mounting a crotch strap, cam bands for single tank diving, canister lights, pony bottles, lift bags, and other essential accessories.
* Universal Webbing Compatibility: All slots are precision-cut to accommodate standard 2-inch (5.1 cm) webbing, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of harnesses, including the OMS IQ Lite, Comfort, or continuous weave webbing.
* The OMS Finishing Difference: The OMS Stainless Steel backplate truly shines thanks to our superior de-burring process which eliminates backplate sharp edges, and prevents abrasion and cuts to webbing and BC´s. This meticulous attention to detail protects your valuable gear and ensures smooth, snag-free operation.

Choose the material that best suits your diving requirements. The Stainless Steel version adds negative buoyancy, potentially reducing the amount of weight needed on your belt, which is ideal for cold water diving with thick exposure suits. The lightweight Aluminum version is perfect for the traveling diver, minimizing excess baggage weight while still providing a robust and stable platform.
